MY STORY
And what drives me
I’m Harry and I live in sunny Bournemouth with my wife, Penny.

In 2004, age 15, I filmed a family friends wedding with my dad, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Camera technology has changed since then, but the reason for recording that day hasn’t.
Having been a wedding filmmaker himself in the 60’s, my dad was a key part of my interest in video. I grew up around his video equipment and have always been fascinated by camera technology and film.
I joined my dad’s video business, Plato Video in 2011. I never wanted to run a business, and didn’t imagine it would be a long term thing. A few years later I took over the business, the joy of filming weddings was too great!
I continue to run the business to this day. If I’m not filming or editing, I’m usually on long walks with my wife or tending to our garden - I realise I sound about 50 years older than I am! I can’t imagine living and working anywhere outside of Dorset.
Penny and I met at primary school in Bournemouth. 8 years later, age 17, I plucked up the courage to ask her out. Exactly 11 years after our first date, in November 2017, we were married.

Documenting personal history is my passion.
A wedding video can give you a lifetime of enjoyment. I believe that hiring a videographer is easily the best investment you'll make towards your wedding day.
Considering all the planning that goes into your wedding day and the unique mixture of friends and family involved, it makes sense to have a high quality memento created. Knowing my films might be adored, cherished and watched countless times for years to come brings me immense joy.
I appreciate the importance of documenting ourselves for posterity so much that I started a new video service called, Retold. It’s a specilist documentary video service for families.
